Compose and keep the gravel's road in Iran that is a mountainous and big country had a very cost so until the first world war the roads in Iran were such as before that including rood's earavan . but after 1299 h.s the government mend gravel's road such as today . and gravels road started from 1301-1304 .
Up to now validities of road construction and road maintain once are provided from taking transportation license in the gravel's road and this amount of payment is more them 300 tomans . in the 11 the of farvardin in 1301 the transportation ministry were organized in the department of public welfare and keep the road in the country .
In the 1304 with suggestion from the government and ratification 5th period nation council parliament the reception of transportation license in roader room were disallowed and it was decided that from impure weight of export and import in country was received levy as a road they levy and so anuall credit reach to l500000 tomans . and they divided the roads in the country to different places and determined a response ability for the manager duties and security and keep the roads . in this division the roads divided to ten areas , and each area had a number and manage by a person . in the 1305 , compiled a systematized program as a suggested project for building the roads for road construction in Iran . the project time , was 9 years and it's cost forecasted 45000000
In this program , forecasted , the build of 17021 km of gravel's road in the 1-2-3 orders . this project was the first program a bout gravel's road build in the Iran .
Pay attention to the roads in the Iran , was caused that according to a low that passed from nation council parliament the transportation office change to a in depended ministry and called transportation ministry , in the 27 of Esfandin the 1308 . the basis duties on the transportation ministry according to the second article in the law that it was (( tack care of formation and keep the rail roads , and gravel ’s roads and regulation and spreading of navigation and manage the harbour’s work . then as a transportation ministry was agent for founding and keep the roads , rails roads and manage the harbour's work in Iran in 1315 .








 

At the begging of the white revolution in creasing the length of the roads in country to about 35000 km . with doing the first fourth civil programs , the length of the 42000 km of the roads changed to highway main way , subsidiary way and in the fifth civil program the 26000 km changed to them .
Until 1371 transportation ministry was change for keep the 107000 km roads and now (the end of 1381) more than 166000 km from all kind of roads are keeping.
The transportation ministry doing the actions of keeping by 3 staff offices and 29 province transportation offices .the transportation ministry are responsible for the actions of present and usual roads maintenance and immediate and emergency roads maintenance .
The action's of the road maintenances as a durable period and alternative doing by stewardship from staff offices and provinces transportation offices from the validation nation and provinces project by private part .
